Een van de belangrijkste dagen van het startup jaar, Prinsjesdag staat volgende week op de agenda. Op Prinsjesdag, altijd de derde dinsdag van september, presenteert de regering haar beleid voor het komende jaar en de daarbij behorende financiën in de Miljoenennota. Belangrijk voor iedere belasting-betalende burger, nog belangrijker voor startups en founders.
De voorlopige rijksbegroting die wordt gepresenteerd betreft plannen en regelgeving rondom koopkracht, werkgelegenheid, economische groei, regelgeving rondom aandelen, belastingtarieven en plannen voor economische groei en innovatie. Startups dienen als de (banen)motor voor de economie van morgen.
Agenda openingen startup lobby
De Miljoenennota is een voorlopige rijksbegroting, waar alle regeringspartijen nog vragen over kunnen stellen. Een ingang voor de politieke (startup) lobby dus. Dutch Startup Association roept startups en founders op om de Prinsjesdag uitzending te volgen en DSA in te schakelen als zij worden beperkt in de uitvoering door regelgeving.
Het afgelopen jaar stond onder andere een aantrekkelijker belastingtarief bij de verkoop van aandelen en de herinvoering van de Tante Agaath regeling. Ook hamert DSA op de ontwikkeling van een ambitieuzer beleid rondom innovatie. Tijdens de corona-crisis bleken veel startups buiten de COL en NOW steunpakket regelingen te vallen, waarbij DSA haar stem als belangenbehartiger van de Nederlandse startups heeft laten horen en het gesprek aan mocht gaan met staatssecretaris Mona Keijzer van het ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat.
Prinsjesdag Virtual Viewing
Om Prinsjesdag voor startups en founders aantrekkelijker te maken, organiseert DSA een virtual viewing party: gezamenlijk Prinsjesdag kijken, waarbij de mogelijkheid is om vragen te stellen. Een nuttige break midden op de dag. Als je geïnteresseerd bent in het bijwonen van dit event, schrijf je dan hier in. Jaarlijks komt DSA meteen na de bekendmaking van de Miljoenennota met een standpunt over het beleid en de consequenties voor startups, de economie van morgen.
One of the most important days of the startup year, Prinsjesdag (EN: Little Prince Day), is on the agenda next week. On this day, which is always the third Tuesday of September, the government will be presenting their next year's government policies and the Miljoenennota, the national budget. These matters are crucial for every tax-paying citizen, but even more crucial for startups and founders.
The provisional State budget which will be presented on Prinsjesdag concerns plans and regulation regarding purchasing power, the workforce, economic growth, legislation regarding stocks, tax rates and economic growth and innovation schemes. These issues are especially of importance for startups, as they serve as the job engine of the future economy and therefore, ought to be aware of these matters.
Agenda openings: startup lobby
As previously stated, The Miljoenennota is only a tentative budget of the state, which can still be discussed among government parties. It is, therefore, a way in to political lobbying for startups. Hence, Dutch Startup Association encourages startups and founders to watch the livestream of Prinsjesdag and to involve DSA if they are being restricted due to the implementation of the discussed policies.
Last year, DSA managed to pitch a more attractive tax rate when selling stocks and the reintroduction of the Tante Agaath scheme (EN: Aunt Agaath scheme). In addition, DSA insists on the development of an assertive policy regarding innovation. During the corona crisis, it appeared that many startups were excluded from the COL and NOW aid packages, to which DSA voiced the concerns of Dutch Startups to the authorities. Consequently, this allowed DSA to have an open conversation about these matters with the state secretary Mona Keijzer of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.
